Ed “Big Daddy” Roth turned car design into a wild-eyed fever dream. In the late ’50s and ’60s, he built custom creations like the Beatnik Bandit, Mysterion, and Orbitron—fiberglass freaks with bubble tops, exposed engines, and cartoon attitude. More sculpture than car, his builds ditched convention and helped launch the Kustom Kulture movement, proving hot rods could be art with a growl.
