Vozinha's mother will attend Cape Verde's next FIFA World Cup 2026 match after the U.S. State Department stepped in to help resolve her visa situation.

After the Man of the Match performance with seven saves, Vozinha told reporters that he was emotional because his mother was not able to travel to the United States to attend the World Cup. Vozinha said that visa issues and the associated expenses were too much to make the trip happen in time.

The mother of Cape Verde star goalkeeper Vozinha has been granted a visa to enter the US in time for her 40-year-old son's next World Cup match, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced Wednesday (June 17).

The 40-year-old revealed after the game that the high cost of fees had prevented his mother visiting him in the US during the tournament.

The US government is doing its best to ensure Ana Candida Evora is in Miami in the next few days to watch her son play in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
